Sunday Summer Party at the Beacon

Yesterday kicked off the return of the Sunday party (formerly known as the Coolout) at the Beacon Bar & Grill. For the last two years, it's been *the* summer party and one that I rarely miss. How can you beat sipping free mojitos in the sun while standing on a rooftop in the heart of DC?!

Props to Austin Hill who always does an amazing job organizing the event and a special shoutout to DJs Harry Dixon and Adrian Loving for providing a mix of funk, soul and rock to keep the crowd on their toes. Here's a pic of Harry on decks: http://is.gd/cxyzD

US Royalty added to the music lineup yesterday and I learned they've been featured in SPIN Magazine's 2008 Buzzcatcher section. Check out this video of their song Every Summer - http://bit.ly/H02vy - and this pic of me with the lead singer, John Thornley, http://is.gd/cxwHC

Hopefully the party will continue throughout the summer. Be sure to check it out one Sunday soon! The Beacon Bar & Grill is located at 1650 Rhode Island Ave NW, Washington, DC.

(And, special thanks to my fab friend Tammy for joining me for the fun! http://bit.ly/cMY0PY)
